Massage and Bodywork

Traditional Massage Therapy involves manipulating soft tissue to release chronic tension and promote ease in body and breath and overall wellbeing. Heather is able to intuitively combine a myriad of modalities to create a session specifically for each client. From deep tissue, cupping massage, craniosacral or proprioceptive stretching, the modalities can differ each session depending on client needs and how the body feels that day. Sessions are primarily performed on a table and oil is usually used.

Thai Yoga Bodywork

Thai Yoga Bodywork is an ancient healing art that can be traced back 2,500 years. This beautiful, dynamic bodywork focuses on balancing the physical and energetic bodies by combining breath, simple yoga stretching and rhythmic movement. Thai Yoga Bodywork is performed on a mat on the floor, fully clothed, and WITHOUT oil. Techniques include gently moving or rocking the body while using palms, thumbs, forearms, elbows, feet, or full bodyweight to apply pressure.

Self- Myofascial Release

Utilizing therapeutic balls to work the fascia (connective tissue) of the body. Think of it as flossing for your muscles. Fascia is a spider-web like tissue that covers and runs in between muscle fibers, organs, nerves, ligaments, and blood vessels. Over time, and with contributing factors such as repetitive actions, sedentary lifestyle, injuries, chronic illness, and stress fascia can become restricted and dehydrated. Using therapy balls, blocks, and functional movement to release adhesions, trigger points and scar tissue, hydrate tissues, improve lymph drainage, increase blood circulation to tissues and alleviate discomfort. Over time and with consistency, this work can also correct postural patterns and habits. Leave feeling lighter and more balanced in your body, as if you just had a deep tissue massage! Private sessions available for more specialized instruction or specific sequences.
